David Holeton

September 21, 1957 — October 10, 2015

David Stanley Holeton, 58, died October 10, 2015 in Fort Madison, Iowa, following a traumatic brain injury. He was born September 21, 1957, in North English, Iowa, to Milford Stanley and Shirley Marie Kirkpatrick Holeton. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1976. David married Luci Hartwig in 1986, they later divorced. He was employed as a construction worker, particularly in the carpentry and roofing businesses. When not working hard on the job, David continued sharing his construction talents with family and friends on various projects. David was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter. He enjoyed being with his friends and watching old TV westerns and John Wayne movies. He also loved "da Bears".

David was preceded in death by his father.

David is survived by his daughters Sara Lucas (Tom) of Wellman, Brandinna Wolfe (Wesley) of Ladora, a step-son Errek Hartwig of What Cheer, four grandchildren Kaleb Lucas, Gracie Lucas, Megan Lucas and Caydence Wolfe, his mother Shirley Holeton of North English, and his siblings, Kathy Warfield of Sigourney, Janean Blake (Bob) of Marion, John Holeton of South English, Susan Holeton of Sigourney, and Kirk Holeton (Shelly Westfall) of South English, as well as his daughters' mothers, Lori Shepard of Marengo and Luci Harris of Des Moines. Other surviving family members include paternal uncles Cecil Holeton of Muscatine and Marvin Holeton of Oxford, a maternal aunt, Mary Riley of Moberly, Missouri, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
