Darlene Thomas

Darlene M. Thomas, 77 died September 8, 2012 at the Mahaska County Hospital. She was born October 27, 1934 to Willard Arvene and Georgina Owen Decker near Sigourney, Iowa. She attended Sigourney High School. She married twice, first to Joseph Leroy West then later to George Harry Thomas. Darlene worked for Sanners nursing home and had a taxi cab in Sigourney. She lived in Ottumwa and Oskaloosa where she was employed as a CNA at Pleasant Park. She was a member of the Eagles in Oskaloosa. She enjoyed fishing with her brothers, playing bingo, and making blankets for her many grandchildren. During her illness Chris Ferns spent time with her daily.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debbie Asher, four brothers LeRoy Decker, Harold Decker, Wayne Decker, Jimmy Decker.
She is survived by her children Jim( Gloria) Decker of Eddyville, Rodney (Peggy) West of Oskaloosa, Karen Sauer of Oskaloosa, Chuck (Cindy) Thomas Oskaloosa, Cindy Bracy of Des Moines, Richard(Carol) Thomas of Oskaloosa, Diane Ireland(Ted)of Ames, 33 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild, one brother Willard ( Donna) Decker of Hayesville and many nieces and nephews.

Burial: East Cemetery, Sigourney
Visitation: Tuesday 5:00-7:00 P.M.
