Clarice Irene Colbert 98, died October 3, 2020 at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born October 8, 1921 to John W. and Clara Pearl Adams Cook in rural Hayesville, Iowa. Clarice attended Union Hall Country School and graduated from Sigourney High School in 1939. She taught country school at Monkey Den. On May 20, 1941 she married Dale Elliot Colbert in Lancaster Missouri. She lived in Texas while Dale served in the Army. In 1945 they purchased the Colbert Oil Company in Hayesville where she was the bookkeeper for many years. Clarice lived in Hayesville until 2018 when she moved to the Manor House. She joined St. Mary Catholic Church in 1996, was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the Union Hall Hustlers.
She was preceded in death by her parents husband Dale on October 31, 1981, son Michael, three sisters Ruth Colleen Appleget, Wanda Maxine Beasley, Carol Doris Appleget, two brothers Richard and Fredrick Cook.
She is survived by her daughter in law Julie Ann Colbert of Hayesville grandson Dale Michael (Gayle) Colbert of Roland, Iowa, one brother John Wilmer Cook of Arizona, one sister JoAnne Pitsch of Pella three great grandchildren Kayli, Caleb, McKenzie Colbert.
