Cecilia Anna Herman

Cecilia Anna Herman, 100, died March 26, 2019 at the Manor House in Sigourney, Iowa. She was born September 30, 1918 near Sigourney to Peter and Magdalena Koch Wehr. She graduated from Sigourney Schools and attended Iowa Teachers College. Cecilia taught in many rural schools. On April 22, 1954 she married Elmer Gerhard Herman at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney. They purchased a farm south of South English where they farmed until they retired and moved to Sigourney. She was a former member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper, St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary, CLSC Club in South English and the Federation Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband on December 7, 2009, five brothers Ambrose, Walter, Frank, Paul and Matthias Wehr and one sister Catherine Wehr.
She is survived by her daughters Karla Herman of Sigourney, Marjorie (Randy) Bickford of Bettendorf, two grandchildren Andy Bickford and Jessica (Carl) Dietz.
