Beverly Hammes

Beverly Rae Hammes, 78, died May 8, 2020 at Corridor Crossing Place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was born November 1, 1941 to Donald and Jennie (Plank) Glandon in Sigourney.  She graduated from Sigourney High School.  On November 25, 1961 she married Cletus Hammes at the St. Mary Church in Sigourney.   She was employed at Dick’s Corner in Sigourney and at the Keokuk County Clerk of Court retiring in 2004. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, and playing video games.  Beverly was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cletus, son William Hammes, son-in-law Keith Garling, three brothers Darryl Glandon, Keith Glandon, Roger Glandon.

She is survived by daughter Christine Garling of Iowa City, one son Jeff Hammes of Sigourney, three grandchildren Austin (Kindra) Hammes, Shellby Hammes,  McKenzie Hammes, one great-granddaughter Raelyn Hammes, Brothers Norman Glandon of Sigourney, Ardith Glandon of Sigourney, Larry Glandon of State Center, and sister Carol Shifflett of Webster.
