Arlene Evelyn Sheesley Clarahan, age 80 of Sigourney, passed away December 26, 2014 in Sigourney with her loving family by her side. Arlene was born March 10, 1934 in Ottumwa, IA, daughter of the late Elmo and Mamie Sample Sheesley. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1952 and later met the love of her life, Donald Richard Clarahan. They married on February 25, 1954 in Oskaloosa, IA and were married fifty-seven years until his passing. . Arlene started working outside the home once the kids started school. Arlene worked at the Sigourney High School cafeteria and many years at the Keokuk County Hospital as well as local doctors in the area. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sigourney and a past committee member of the Social Action Committee .
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Donald Richard Clarahan, son; Ronald Dean Clarahan, daughter; Sheryl Jean Clarahan, and sister; Shirley Boyens. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons; Robert Clarahan and wife Marcia of Columbia, MO, Raymond Clarahan and wife Annette of Sigourney, Randy Clarahan and wife Sue of Coralville, IA, Rodney Clarahan of Seymour, TN, daughter; Mary Ann Allison and husband David of Liberty, TX, brother; Jim Sheesley and wife Lucy of Colfax, IA, sixteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service: Monday 10:00 A.M. St. Mary Catholic Church - Sigourney
Burial: Holy Trinity Cemeteries, St. Elizabeth - Harper, Iowa
Visitation: Prayer Service 4:00 P.M. Sunday with visitation to follow to 7:00 P.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church - Sigourney.
