Anita Jean Conklin received her angel wings Thursday May 20, 2021. She was surrounded by her family and is now reunited with the love of her life, Raymond. Anita was born March 26, 1934 to Virgil and Mabel Curry Patterson at home in What Cheer, Iowa. She graduated from What Cheer High School in 1951. On May 27, 1951 she married Raymond Ernest Conklin at the Delta Christian Church in Delta. Anita was a stay at home mother until her children were in school. She was employed at the Sigourney Locker; then Manor House as a CNA and assistant activity coordinator. She was the Activity Director at the Sigourney Care Center for over 20 years, retiring in 2001. She was a 50 year member of the Aspasia Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star. Anita was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and working in her yard. Anita possessed a great wit and sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, and daughter-in-law Sherry Conklin.
She is survived by three sons -Michael (Carol) Conklin of Alexandria, Virginia; Greg Conklin of Altus, Oklahoma; Jeff (Amy) Conklin of Iowa City, and one daughter Pam Conklin (Fiancé Randy Cavanaugh) of Sigourney, 8 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, one sister Neola Van Hauen and one brother Dean Patterson both of Parkersburg.
Funeral Service: Tuesday 10:30 A.M. at the Holm Funeral Home
Burial: Pleasant Grove Cemetery
Visitation: Monday 5:00 – 7:00 with a Eastern Star Service at 7:00 P.M.
