Bernita Morris

   Bernita Denise Morris, 81, of Sigourney, died Friday June 18, 2010, at the Sigourney Care Center.  She was born October 7, 1928, near Delta to Harlan Davis and Gertrude Emma Jackson Tipton.  She graduated from Sigourney High School.  On February 16, 1946, she married Fred Conrad Morris in Kirksville Mo.  She was employed at the Maid-rite, the Townhouse, the Deerhorn Café, the Keokuk County Home, and the Sigourney Care Center.  They operated a marine at Lake Thunderhead and owned a restaurant in Green City, Mo.  They retired and moved to Gibson, Ia in 1994. After Fred’s death on December 27, 1994, she cooked at the Sigourney Senior Center.  She moved to Sigourney in 1998.  She was a member of the Sigourney Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Connie Webber, two sisters Devota Kintigh, Geraldine Luster Holroyd, two brothers Keith and Ronald Tipton.
    She is survived by her son Terry and wife Phyllis Morris of Malcom, five grandchildren, Duc Webber, Anita Bishop. Amy Baetsle. Justin Morris, Stephanie Morris, 10 great-grandchildren, and a special friend Marvin Clubb.

Funeral Service-10:30a.m. Tuesday at the Holm Funeral Home
Burial-Springfield Cemetery near Delta.
Visitation after 5:00p.m. Monday at the funeral home

A memorial fund has been established.
