Charles F. Fair, 69, of Keota, died Monday September 6, 2010,
at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. He was born April
4, 1941 near Sigourney to Orville James and Eulalia “Maudie” Augusta
Sondag Fair. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1960. On
October 28, 1961, he married Judy Ann Ingle at the Ollie Baptist
Church. He worked at Dick’s Corner, and was a hired farm hand for
Eugene Strohman, Dean Horras and 33 years for R. F. McDowell. He
retired in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and was
an avid fan of figure 8 racing and professional bull riding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two
sisters Beatrice McHugh, Martha Evans and a son-in-law Ron Chittick.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Judy of
Keota, a daughter Lisa Chittick of Ollie, two sons Mike and wife
Leesa Fair of West Branch, Jeff and wife Karen Fair of Wellman, 9
grandchildren, 1 great- granddaughter, 2 brothers Lee Fair of Cedar
Rapids, Vern Fair of Sigourney, and a sister Kathryn Moser of
Toddville, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service:
Friday 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Faith - Keota
Burial: Bethel Cemetery east of Sigourney
Visitation: Thursday after 5:00 p.m. at the Holm Funeral Home in
Sigourney
