Viola Dobbins

    Viola Dobbins, 88, of Sigourney, died Monday August 25, 2008 at Mercy Hospital on Iowa City.  She was born August 1, 1920 to Ervin and Lois Marston Streigle near Barnes City, Iowa. She graduated from Webster High School.  On December 24, 1938, she married Clair B. Dobbins at the Brethern Parsonage near South English.  They lived and farmed near South English, Hayesville, and Sigourney. Viola was employed by the Sigourney Community School District, Manor House and the Sigourney Care Center.   She was a member of the Baptist Church in Sigourney.
    Surviving are 3 daughters, Connie Hanchett, Deep River, Pam Wood and Nola Sharp, Oskaloosa, 4 sons, Terry, Allen, Randy, and Rick Dobbins all of Sigourney.
    She was preceded in death by her husband on November 16, 1984, parents, daughter Sondra Flanegin, granddaughter Tammy Dobbins, great-great granddaughter Shelby Davis, sister Rena Gilliland, five brothers infant Herman, Warren Streigle, Clifford Streigle, Delbert Streigle, Melvin Streigle.

 Graveside service 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney.  Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.  Burial Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  A memorial fund has been established.
