Wayne
“Swede” Decker, 78 died April 24, 2011 at the Keokuk County Health
Center in Sigourney, Iowa. He was born October 23, 1932 to Willard
A. and Georgina E. Owens Decker near Sigourney. He attended
Sigourney Schools. He served in the United States Army. On February
10, 1957 he married Donna Jean Bruns in Sigourney. He was employed
by F. A. Moser and later Iowa Culvert Builders, where he retired as
construction superintendent. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the
First Presbyterian Church in Sigourney
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Doug, three
brothers Harold “Bill” Decker, LeRoy Decker, and James Decker.
He is survived by his wife Donna, two daughters Lori
(Darrell) Alderson of Sigourney, Amy (Ross) Hemsley of Sigourney, 5
grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a brother Willard Decker Jr.
of Hayesville, sister Darlene Thomas of Oskaloosa.
Funeral Service:
Thursday at 10:30 a.m. First Presbyterian Church Sigourney
Visitation: Wednesday 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Burial: East Cemetery, Sigourney
