Maurice “Barney” Barnhart, 66, formerly of Sigourney, died
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Maplewood Manor in Keota. He was
born April 22, 1944 in Oskaloosa to Dean and Audrey Stull Barnhart.
He graduated Sigourney High School in 1962, and attended William
Penn College. On October 12, 1963, he married Nancy Lou Garringer
in Victor. He was employed by DenHartog Bro. Meats, Harkers, and
Reinhart Food Service. He retired in 1996, and has resided at
Maplewood since 2004.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, and mother
Audrey.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy Barnhart, son Brent
Barnhart, two grandsons Brandon and Mason Barnhart, father Dean
Barnhart, sister Judy (Keith) Erwin, brother-in-law L.L. “Buck”
(Diana) Garringer all of Sigourney, and a sister-in-law Tammy (Paul)
Summer of Oskaloosa.
Funeral service
11:00 a.m. Friday at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
Visitation after 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
A memorial fund has been established.
